The Jatiyo Rakkhi Bahini (National Security Force) was seriously controversial. This political militia force was formed in 1972 with a status of an elite force (loyal to Sheikh Mujibur). The force performed something upside down. It did not collect the arms from the civilians as assigned as though it would protect the Mujibur-regime from falling. It is commonly considered as one leading cause of dissatisfaction among the army and the subsequent assassination.
