This international institution is located at the picturesque site near Foy’s Lake, USTC has opened up a new horizon for the quality medical, pharmaceutical, business and modern technology education in the country. The primary objectives of establishing USTC are to improve the quality and standard of education in science and technology with special emphasis on medical, pharmaceutical, engineering and social sciences. It also aims at developing human resources at home and in the developing countries with special emphasis on South Asia.


USTC has opened up a new horizon for the business community of the country by launching a new Faculty entitled ‘Faculty of Business Administration’ which is indeed another bold step by USTC in fulfilling its mission of expansion of higher education through private initiative.

After a short period USTC set going two new Departments namely Department of Computer Science & Engineering under newly formed Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology and Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology under Faculty of Basic Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. They have been functioning with encouraging response from the students.

USTC has its own hospital named Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital. The seven-storied 350-bed Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital has all the facilities, which are essential for a modern general hospital. After being satisfied Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) recognized the Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital to offer Post Graduate training in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics and Pathology.
Hospital Facilities of USTC

Again Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council after their inspection has given the permission for opening the MD (Paed.) Course under USTC in Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital. Within a short period Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital proved its acceptability to the community and day-by-day the number of admitted patients as well as outpatients are increasing. USTC authority realized the situation and decided to set upa 500-bed Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital Unit-11.Very soon its construction works will finish.

Laboratory Facilities of MBBSLaboratory facilities for Basic Sciences viz. Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology and Forensic Medicine exist as per requirement of the BMDC. Facilities are now beingexpanded for out patients and indoor patients.

The MBBS course is a five years Programme. The whole curriculum is divided into three different parts to cover in three subsequent professional Examinations. The curriculum of this course is designed according to the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council’s (BMDC) requirments and when or if required all possible modifications have been and will be done from time to time according to their suggestions
