Katihar Medical College imparts teaching at Undergraduate & Postgraduate level through a team of about 300 senior and junior medical teachers and provides all medical facilities to patients in its hospitals. This hospital is a landmark for poor and ailing down trodden people of this region as all medical consultations and surgical procedures are free. Patients from the neighboring state of West Bengal are also attracted by the facilities provided in this hospital and many patients visit the hospital for their treatment. Equipped with all modern facilities, this 580 bed hospital provides free diet to all its admitted patients. All clinical investigations such as MRI (1.5T),CT Scan, Mammography, X-Ray(Digital & plain with IITV & Fluoroscopy), Ultrasound (Colour Doppler), Endoscopy, EEG, Echo, TMT, Pathological tests etc are provided at highly subsidized rates and in case of actually needy poor admitted patients these may be free of cost.
