The largest neonatal intensive care unit of Bangladesh now operational at Ad-Din Hospital

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Ad-din Medical college hospital situated at Moghbazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh provides highly specialized care to the new born who are in critical state. Our 60-beds NICU is equipped and staffed to deliver a full-range of medical care services. From at-risk infants to critically ill neonates throughout the state, the NICU at Ad-din Hospital has been the preferred choice in intensive care for mothers, expectant mothers, and infants throughout Dhaka and other areas in Bangladesh. It is the main referral centre for newborn babies suffering from complex and high-risk medical conditions, managing 700 to 800 admissions a year, including full-term, as well as pre-term babies. The unit receives referrals from within the state and surrounding states. The unit has already set a benchmark in ensuring survival of extreme preterm babies by saving the smallest baby born in Bangladesh at 25 weeks gestation.
CLINICAL EXPERTISE
The department is managed by highly skilled, experienced and qualified team members under the leadership of American Board certified Pediatrician and Neonatologist, Prof. Zabrul SM Haque. Trained Medical officers who are available round the clock on rotation basis to ensure highest standards of care. In addition we have social workers, clinical dieticians, occupational and physical therapists who are specially trained in neonatal care. The unit is also staffed with well trained, skilled and experienced nurses. They form the backbone of our services.
Our physicians, nurses and allied medical care professionals who work in NICU have extensive knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience to quickly assess and treat patients so that the neonates can achieve the best outcomes possible from critical illness or injury that requires special care. The use of advanced technologies & provision of latest technologies provide support for speedy recovery.
Our NICU's provide facilities for clinical nutrition including Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for children who are on long term intravenous fluids.
