Ratan Sen Public Library serves its community by promoting and providing opportunities for full and equal access to information and ideas, the love of reading, the joy of learning, and engagement with the arts, sciences and humanities in a safe and comfortable environment. Also offers its patrons lots of items like print and audio books, eBooks and more. Local residents borrow books and make use of the Library’s public-use computers as well as enjoying varied and interesting programs for youth and adults.
Ratan Sen Public Library is committed to promoting literacy and expanding educational opportunities available to general public. The library trying to meet this commitment by providing a variety of reading, heath-education and teaching assistance services through a series of library-based programs designed to serve poor and indigent children in the community of Khulna city.
Ratan Sen Public Library was established in 1999 is palace in Khulna; City of Bangladesh. This library providing library services at near downtown Khulna. Ratan Sen was a great leader in Bangladesh. He was a Concrete thinking person. He always tried to build a Concrete thinking community. After his murder, some of his friend trying to alive his vision and thinks. For this, we are built a library and named Ratan sen public library since 1999. Ratan Sen Public Library provided books, information, entertainment, and a Concrete thinking community gathering place in Khulna city since 1999.
But in this time, we can’t maintain library cost. We have some donation but not enough to maintaining library cost. We can’t effort monthly rental cost and also other costs. Library has seven rooms included reading, computer and store room. Library needs buy some new books, furniture and many other things. And also pay monthly rent.
The goal of Ratan Sen Public Library is to expand this model of promoting literacy and health education and concrete thinking through library based programs for the community of Khulna. It is for this purpose that we are requesting your consideration for financial assistance.
