Shaheed Liberation War Museum is located in the centre of Tangail town at a newly constructed building designed by Mizanur Rahman at ISAPURI LODGE which is a historic house visited by many great sons of the soil including Sher-e-Bangla A K Fazlul Huq, a great leader of the Bengali nation; Revolutionary
leader Shamsul Huq, founder General Secretary of Awami League and Justice Abu Sayeed Choudhury, former President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

At the end of the liberation war, Isapuri Lodge became a camp for the freedom fighters who did not have a place to stay in Tangail. The museum was ceremoniously inaugurated on July 10, 2011. A huge number of people, mostly youth have already visited, and continue to visit the museum. Prominent visitors included dignitaries like Air Vice Marshal A K Khandker, Bir Uttam, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the liberation war who is currently a Minister of the government of Bangladesh; Major General K M Safiullah, Bir Uttam, Commander of ‘S’ Force during the liberation war, and veteran freedom fighter Lieutenant General M Harun-Ar-Rashid, BP, former Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army.

Normally, Shaheed Liberation War Museum is open for the public every FRIDAY and SATURDAY from 4 pm to 7 pm. The museum may also be visited on other days by special arrangement made with the contact persons. The entry is FREE. The Museum will remain closed in the holy month of Ramadan and all other public holidays.
