জাতীয় বস্ত্র প্রকৌশল ও গবেষণা ইন্সটিটিউট বা National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) is the first venture of Public-Private-Partnership education and research institute that originally evolved from Textile Industry Development Center (TIDC) set by Bangladesh Government to provide technical support to textile industries. With a view to expand its activities to fully academic and research area, it was handed over to the operational management of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) in May, 2009. Since then it is being run by a 13-member Governing Body constituted by Ministry of Textiles & Jute, Govt. of Bangladesh with President of BTMA as Chairman and Members from concerned Public and Private Sector organizations.
