Angon is the name of a shining star in the cultural movement of Chittagong University. It’s a symbol with a collection of intense, perseverance, freshness, self-winded and cultural image. It has an aim to form a moral curriculum and to develop cultural personalities. Of sound mind cultural activities can shine purified soul. Now we are on the position where a collection of rising up, blazing young generation is active in our original Bengali culture from time immemorial.

Angon is a non-political cultural organization in the arena of Chittagong University. Containing the theme `Shustho Shongoskriti Hok Manobik Shomaj Gothoner Hatiar’, it started from 14th February, 1990 and the members of Angon are still trying their best to intact the flow of Bengali culture.

Having some property and originality, Angon is going to achieve its desire aim. To reach its firm position many times, many honorable and scholar teachers of University, cultural person, philologist, poets have helped Angon. To proceed on a proper continuity for any organization requires many sacrifices, hard labors, admiration, honesty, cordiality, responsibilities etc. Angon is the organization which is the summation of those qualities.

Though we are the origin having rich culture, day by day a large part of young generation is attracted by western culture. In this unfavorable and hard time Angon has firmed in its own way because it is respectful and promise to bind its duty.

Angon does not limit only 1300 acres of Chittagong University. It has scattered around the whole country. Out of varsity in Chittagong town there is ‘Angon Nagor Shakha’ and in Dhaka, there is a ‘Angon Foundation’. The member who has completed their education in varsity are successful in their own position. At presence, many Angon members have lived in abroad. It is hoped that Angon will be able to spread out our own culture over the world in future.

As a full non-political organization Angon is able to keep its fame. Angon is contained of our own civilized culture, modern thinking, open conversation and bold position against injustice. The position of Angon is not established in a day. Crossing 24 years and passing every unfavorable condition it has come to its present condition. It desires more better works from past. May Angon be lightened by its own light and all the blessful doors be opened. May Angon be intact its journey forever and good wishes to all of its well wishers from Angon family………
