ঘরামী.জন GHORAMI.JON

GHORAMI [ঘরামী ] is the Bangla word for grassroots architects and builders of indigenous structures for rural people. Officially established in 2013, GHORAMI.JON [ ঘরামী.জন ] was constituted with a vision to exercise the ideologies of APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY and ECOLOGY in built environment; by exploring its applications both locally and globally. The organization implies the term ‘HABITAT’ and ‘COMMUNITY’ in more holistic and ecologically inclusive senses in favor of both Human and surrounding Bio-diversity. Over the years the organization have been able to shift its focus on developing design schemes for sustainable, resilient and ecologically responsive habitat and settlements of marginalized communities who hardly gain any technical assistance from main stream practitioners. Currently GHORAMI.JON is striving to elaborate its scope of work and address diverse issues of human living within the settlements and the surrounding environment in broad.

Regardless of the nature of work – ‘ensuring environmental protection with good human life’ – marks the ultimate vision of GHORAMI.JON. Our logo, the rickshaw is the manifestation of appropriate technology which was developed overtime by addressing it's immediate contexts.
