Aadila at Taldi

A quaint bengali farm spread over 26 bighas, just 35 kms from the city, with its usual assets of cows and hens and ducks and fish ponds. Ideal place for a 'Day-Picnic'. The farm sits right on the periphery of ‘Sunderban Biosphere’ and has only a small village to its south; beyond which starts the ‘Sunderbans’ !

How to reach : The road to Taldi starts from Kamalgazi which can be reached by E M Bye-pass or via Garia More. From Kamalgazi, one has to drive straight, passing Narendrapur, Rajpur, Harinavi, & Jogibattala, till you reach Baruipur; where you turn right to take the newly constructed railway over-bridge. After descending from the over-bridge, one has to take right and drive straight till the road becomes narrow and turns left and you reach a narrow junction, [from where a road to the right goes towards Joynagar], and you keep going straight towards Canning. The road then becomes wider and takes you past Fultala, Ramnagar, Uttarbhag, Kurali, and then Rajapur. After crossing Rajapur look out for a Signage of ‘Aadila at Taldi’ on your left. Soon after seeing that signage you will find another signage from where you turn right and take a village road. After about a kilometre of rough bumpy ride you will see a signage for parking. A farm hand will be there to guide you for the rest. The farm is about 400 meters from there. You could walk or take a cycle van provided by the farm.


What is there : Nothing ! Exactly, nothing ! Nothing that we are used to seeing these days. The paddy fields changing its colour and the wind blowing through them in gushes. Sounds familiar to our everyday city life fades as we go nearer to the farm.


The place designated for Day-Picnic has a 100’ x 20’ shed with hay thatched above corrugated cement sheets. It houses the buffet counter and dining tables. It has enough space to accommodate those who wish to avoid the direct rays of the winter sun and take a small nap on any of the camp-cots. The garden in front is not a manicured lawn but has lots of flowers and plants to attract the birds and bees.


The garden has card tables with lounge chairs scattered around large umbrellas, perfect for pure ‘addas’ over snacks and beverages/drinks. You could ask for cards, ludo, chess and the farm hands would provide you with them.
Ponds are many, and are full of exotic fishes; and wheels can be provided for fishing [for a fee of-course].


The farm being located away from the usual facilities of an urban settlement; it tries to provide most of the stuff needed for a Day-Picnic. So, visitors need not make any arrangement for food and beverages, and it is provided by the farm hands. Some of the vegetables served are even grown at the farm.


The entire arrangement for organising these Day-Picnics has been given to M/s B P Enterprise, who will assist and try to provide all that is required to make your time there enjoyable. Picnic time starts at 8 am and can stretch upto 4 pm max. We estimate that a group size of 30-50 people can enjoy the place best.


What to eat : Fixed-menu Breakfast, Tea/Coffee & Lunch will be provided and their charges are included in the package price. The menu for Breakfast, Tea/Coffee & Lunch are given below. Snacks however will be provided at an extra charge and the same has to be ordered at least two days in advance.
