Alipurduar High School Centenary Celebration

Alipurduar High School (H.S.), now known by this name started its journey way back in 1916, just an year earlier than the famous Bolshevik Revolution of Soviet Union. Though started as a primary school, soon it incorporated the upper primary and secondary sections to cater to the needs of the pupils of Alipurduar and surrounding rural areas. The school was recognised by Calcutta University w.e.f. 1919. The school came under the inspectorate of Secondary Schools in 1948 through salary deficit scheme. Soon it was recognised as the only Higher Secondary Institution of this locality w.e.f. 1.1.1957 with humanities, science and commerce streams.

In its long journey like a river which never rests, it has gathered memoirs of outstanding academic results, brilliant extracurricular activities like participation of Subrata Cup Final, State School Meet Final, under 16 and under 19 cricket finals, state science seminars and exhibitions etc. Academic results have reached the summit more than ten occasions when the students of the institution found places in the merit list of Madhyamik, old Higher Secondary and (10+2) H.S. Exams. An array of scholarly students made their Alma Mater proud of them. Famous teachers from all corners of the state have served this age old institution with their prudence and empathy.

The school will complete the centenary of the long pilgrimage in 2015. To commemorate the holy journey we invite all alumni of this institution to pay homage to the mother foster who once cared and shared for them.
