In this election Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation candidate Mahboob Alam won Balrampur assembly seat defeating his nearest BJP rival Barun Kumar Jha.GA candidate Dulal Chandra Goswami of JDU got third position in this seat.
