Bangladesh Lathial Bahini বাংলাদেশ লাঠিয়াল বাহিনী

Shirajul Haque Chowdhury, widely known as Ustad Bhai, is the Founder of Bangaldesh Lathial Bahini. He is one of the few legends Kushtia, in fact, the entire Bangaldesh has ever seen. What makes it so fascinating is the larger than life presence of Ustad Bhai who touched so many people from different walks of life and turned them into dignified and respected human beings.

He devoted his entire life to build Bangladesh Lathial Bahini from ground up and transformed it into a form of rich art and culture of Bangladesh. Lathikhela is no longer a show of might and power of landlords and miscreants, it has become a part of our rich cultural heritage. Today Bangladesh Lathial Bahini is highly recognized and respected organization with nearly 10,000 registered Lathials all over Bangladesh. Ustad Bhai made all of us very proud of what we are all today- a true Bengali with rich and indigenous culture.

Ustad Bhai was not only a Lathial, he was a dreamer, visionary, optimist, writer, philanthropist and an entrepreneur. He established Kushtia Technical School in 1958 when hardly anyone could envision if such an institution could ever exist in reality. He believed in himself and as of today Kushtia Technical School has trained hundreds of thousands of skilled, self-motivated and highly respected workers who would have been otherwise considered a burden to our society and economy as well. This army of highly qualified Mechanics, Drivers, Electricians and Tailors has either gone to overseas to bring home the foreign currencies or joined the local labor force to boost our economy. They are no longer a liability to us. We are very proud of them. This has become a reality because Shirajul Haque Chowdhury had a vision in 1958.
