Bhangar is an assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.OverviewAs per orders of the Delimitation Commission, No. 148 Bhangar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is composed of the following: Bhangar II community development block, and Jagulgachhi, Narayanpur and Pranganj gram panchayats of Bhangar I community development block.Bhangar (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is part of No. 22 Jadavpur (Lok Sabha constituency). Bhangar was earlier part of Basirhat (Lok Sabha constituency).Election results2011In 2011 Badal Jamadar of CPI defeated his nearest rival Arabul Islam of Trinamool Congress.1977-2006In the 2006 state assembly elections,Arabul Islam of Trinamool Congress won the Bhangar Assembly seat defeating Mosharaf Hossain Laskar of CPI(M). Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Badal Zamadar of CPI(M) defeated Abdus Sattar Mollah of Trinamool Congress in 2001,Azibar Rahaman of Congress in 1996,and Nuzuzzaman Molla of Congress in 1991. Abdur Razzak Molla of CPI(M) defeated Shaikh Shahidar Rahman of Congress in 1987. Daud Khan of CPI(M) defeated Seriful Aslam Ishaque of Congress in 1982and Amir Ali Molla of Janata Party in 1977.
