CHATURANGA, an NGO working with the people, made its debut in the year 1978 and subsequently got registered under S.R. Act. XXI of 1860. and affiliated to Neheru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan, Govt. of India, in the year 1980-81, having its working office at the heart of Patharkandi, Dist.- Karimganj. The Organization is in constant effort to facilitate social change with optimum utilization of plenteous participation from all sections of people of the society. Since last 30 years, it is working with disadvantaged group of rural people with special emphasis on minority, women, child and other vulnerable sections spread over the remote areas of Indo-Bangladesh, Mizoram & Tripura border of Patharkandi Circle. The Organization, in its recognition, received prestigious Dist. Level Best Outstanding Youth Club Award from Neheru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Karimganj Kendra in the year 1996-97.

DECISION MAKING PROCESS:
The Executive Body, elected by the general body annually, is responsible for all sorts of Organizational Planning, execution, assessment, monitoring & evaluation of various programs and activities.

WORK FORCE:
A group of committed & enthusiastic youth with voluntary spirit from diverse background is working consistently to realize Organizational goal. The Organization gives immense importance to emerging leadership in furtherance of development process. Training, BCC, experimental learning through capacity building is crux of organizational staff development.

DEVELOPMENT: OUR PERCEPTION:
We define “Development” is an awakening process that comes from within the people and help them in experiencing freedom to live a life of dignity & equality at all times. We believe in the concept of “Working with the People” instead of working for the people.

OUR MISSION:
“CHATURANGA exists to bring the Socio-economic & cultural development of the citizens particularly to women & children of Karimganj Dist. by 2020 A.D. would like to provide cost effective, sustainable people’s friendly health, education, economic empowerment and rural entrepreneurship services through peoples participation.”
