Dewan Abdur Rahim High School & College

Dewan Abdur Rahim High School or DAR (BL) High School, is one of the oldest school in Balagonj Upazila, Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is one of the Secondary Non-Govt High School in Sylhet Division under Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Sylhet.Dewan Abdur Rahim High School was established in 1914 as primary school and became High School in 1957 under East Pakistan Secondary Education Board, Dacca. Dewan Abdur Rahim of Sultan pur was the founder and donated land and building. Dewan Andur Rahim was the Chairman of Sylhet District Board (District Council) before independence of Pakistan. Sylhet /Sultan pur road was constructed , while he was the Chairman before 2nd great war (1939-45) .Khondkar Lokman, Motahir Ali, Bahadur Khan. Lokman, Bahadur Khan and Motahir Ai were the first barch who appeared in the Matriculation examination (SSC) in 1957. Shashi Bhusan Phal sir was the first Head Master of Dewan Abdur Rahim High School. The second Head master was Abdur Rahmans sir of Alapur.
