Dinajpur Sadar

Dinajpur Sadar Upazila (dinajpur district) with an area of 354.34 sq km is bounded by kaharole and khansama upazilas on the north, Indian State of West Bengal on the south, chirirbandar upazila on the east and biral upazila on the west. Main rivers are punarbhaba and atrai.

Dinajpur (Town) consists of 12 wards and 80 mahallas. The area of the municipality is 20.6 sq km and its population is 157343; male 51.29%, female 48.71%. The literacy rate among the town people is 56.5%.
Dinajpur thana was established in 1899 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of 14 union parishads, 291 mouzas and 205 villages.
