Located in Dhaka, Bangladesh and works across the country and abroad, Bangladesh Mountaineering & Leadership School by Everest Academy (BMLS-EA) is one of Bangladesh's premier providers of mountaineering; ice climbing, rock climbing, hiking and trekking experiences within the Bangladesh's hills and mountains abroad. From 2011, we have unofficially hosted the program with Dhaka University’s Mountaineering & Adventure Club, which is now official, and it is growing day by day. Our brand is known for quality mountain experiences, safety and well organized itineraries. We have some of the best instructors and hiking guides in the industry.

The BMLS-EA believes positive, ethical leaders change the world. Based on this belief, BMLS-EA is in its way to be the leader in adventure education. Founded in 2012 by First Bangladeshi Everest Conqueror Musa Ibrahim, BMLS-EA takes trainees of all ages on remote adventure expeditions and teaches them technical adventure skills, leadership, and environmental ethics.

What BMLS-EA teaches cannot be learned in a traditional classroom or on a city street. It takes practice to learn adventure skills and time to develop leadership. The backcountry provides the ideal setting for this unique, experiential education— BMLS-EA classrooms are some of the Bangladesh’s wildest and most awe-inspiring locations. BMLS-EA believes living in untouched places like the classrooms will teach trainees responsibility for all that surrounds us.

Our instructors all believe leadership can be learned, and they have been trained in the BMLS-EA leadership curriculum, outdoor ethics, and wilderness skills to help every student become the strongest leader he or she can be. BMLS-EA instructors are experienced wilderness expedition leaders, and they are passionate educators. They possess a blend of technical skills competence, and teaching abilities, and they genuinely enjoy interacting with groups of people. BMLS-EA operates on the firm believe that learning should be fun, something our instructors exemplify and our students attest to every day.

With courses ranging from 10 days to a full academic year, we attract highly motivated students who want to learn how to lead. BMLS-EA graduates have everything needed to lead others in the soceity, as well as the leadership ability to excel at work or in the classroom. We expect a great deal of our trainees. BMLS-EA courses are demanding, because we believe people thrive when challenged. Our hands-on, learn-by-doing approach means our graduates get the skills they need to be competent, responsible wilderness travelers long after their course.

BMLS-EA Focuses:
• Provide and maintain logical, factual and practical adventure paradigms, through educating, training, assessing, certifying and empowering the current professional and aspiring adventurer, youth adventure program leaders, college/university adventure program leaders and adventure club/association leaders.

• Support community development amongst adventure trainers, while recognizing and honoring diversity in all national and international adventure guide or instructor training and certification standards.

• Provide trainees with mountaineering technical practicalities and factual technical information as it relates to climbing fall loads and breaking strengths of ropes, cords and other climbing gear, as they specifically pertain to configurations and applications used during mountaineering.

• Create and support open dialog on technical and educational concerns for the professional mountaineering and community.

• Open up adventure education training and assessment opportunities to a more economically diverse group of people, by lowering training and assessment costs and offering scholarships primarily based on financial need.

• Responsible Adventure Tourism (we are guided by "Take a photographs & leave no trace" and always travel that maximizes the benefits to local communities, minimizes negative social or environmental impacts, and helps local people conserve fragile cultures and habitats or species).

Courses

Pre-Basic Mountaineering Training
The rugged, hill stream-carved Chimbuk Range is famous for its sheer hill headwalls and soaring spires.
This not-that-much remote range is also famous for trekking expeditions that have a perfect blend of hill trekking, hill ascents, and mountaineering technique practice.
You’ll learn fundamental mountaineering skills such as belaying, rappelling, climbing techniques, and anchor construction—all while traveling over, around, and through the hilly, steep terrain of the Chimbuk Range.
Your route will allow you to learn climbing techniques that will lead to longer, more technical climbs. At the same time, you’ll master the camping, hiking, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in the mountain environment and beyond.

At BMLS-EA, leadership isn’t just a concept to be studied and pondered; we give you the tools to be a leader. The Leadership Training Challenge focuses on the core aspects of BMLS-EA's leadership training in a format that is hands-on, fun, and effective. Your team can get away from the distractions of the daily routine, yet remain available for critical work conversations.

The outdoor component of the course allows participants to collaborate in hands-on learning with advanced technology oriented course. This condensed expedition mimics challenges that teams face anywhere: making expedient decisions, balancing task achievement with group development, blending distinct individuals to form a cohesive team, and working through unforeseen hurdles.

Through group coaching, our facilitators give your team the tools to make sound decisions; these skills will leverage teams to be stronger and more effective.
