Faculty Of Business Studies - FBS,Jahangirnagar University

This faculty was first just an idea by a renowned professor of Department of Economics, Prof. Abdul Bayes. In the year 2009 along with the help of the then Vice Chancellor Dr.Sharif Enamul Kabir, Prof. Bayes turned the idea into a reality and started the Faculty of Business Studies. He, as the person behind this great idea, got to be the 1st Dean of the Faculty and led it.

In the year 2009, the Faculty of Business Studies started its journey with only 2 Departments, Dept. of Finance & Banking and Dept. of Marketing and 2 teachers in each Department.

In the beginning,since there was no space for a new faculty, the classes were taken and all other official works were done in Social Science Building,Jahangirnagar University.

With the success of these two Departments in 2010, two new Departments were introduced, Dept. of Accounting & Information Systems and Dept. of Management Studies.

As the faculty got bigger, it hired some new faculty members as well.

Up to March 2010 the faculty was in Social Science building, but in April the faculty shifted to its permanent and current building, the X-Geographical Science Building.

Now the Faculty of Business Studies is proudly dwelling in their own building with Four Departments of More Than 600 Students, 17 Faculty Members and a few guest teachers as well and around 12 office staffs.

The Faculty of Business Studies currently provides the B.B.A Degree on Four Major Subject in Four Separate Departments and Executive M.B.A. Degree for people who are working in different sectors and are willing to have a M.B.A. Degree.
