Department of Information & Communication Engineering - IU

The Information & Communication Engineering (ICE) Department exists as one of the leading department in Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh. It is located in the western side of the 3rd floor of the Science building of the University.
Not only in "Islamic University" or "Kushtia", infact this is the first "Information Technology" based departments in this country Bangladesh. Department started its journey in 1998 initially with Bachelor of Science (Hons) Course of studies under the Course of studies under the leadership of its Founder- Chairman, Professor M Ekin Uddin. The M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. course of studies was introduced in subsequently.
Since its establishment, the department has been pursuing academic and research activities in the field of Software based Application, Image processing, Networking and producing graduates of very acceptable standard. It has lead the nation in teaching, research, and discovery for more than one and a half decades. Our students compete in national and international competitions, and participate in projects that help to improve the lives of millions.
At present, there are 12 members of the teaching staffs in the department with some 255 students in the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. We have a student association named SAICE, through what we perform different types of extra curriculum activities such as cultural program various type of competitions like programming contest, photography contest, debate etc.
