About Manirampur Upazilla in Jessore District:
Manirampur Upazilla(Jessore district) with an area of 444.72 sq km, is bounded by Jessore sadar upazilla on the north, Kalaroa, Keshabpur and Dumuria upazillas on the south, Abhaynagar upazilla on the east, Jhikargachha upazilla on the west.

Noted depressions are Jheadaha, Kedaria,Mnaharpur, Thashiati Beelsand Kahjura Baor.
Main rivers are Kapotakshi and Harihar.

Manirampur(Town)consists of 9 wards and 14 mahallas. The area of the town is 11.48 sq km. Only the town has a population of 18874; male: 52.36%, female: 47.64%; density of population is 1644 per sqkm. Literacy rate among the town people is 43.3%.

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Manirampur has a population of 326093. Males constitute are 51% of the population, and females are 49%.

Administrative:
Manirampur thana was turned into an upazilla in 1983. It (Town) consists of one municipality, 9 wards, 17 union parishads, 246 mouzas and 249 villages. The area of the town is 11.48 sq km. The town has apopulation of 18874; male: 52.36%, female: 47.64% density of population is 1644 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 43.3%.

Historical events:
During the War of Liberation an encounter was held between the Pak army and the freedom fighters at village Manhar in which the Pak army killed 23 innocent villagers.
