Mozaharuddin Biswas Degree College

Mozaharuddin Biswas Degree College is a co-educational Bangladeshi Degree College situated in Kalapara Pourasava under the district of Patuakhali. The Kuakata Sea Beach, Kuakata Tourist Center and 3rd Sea port 'Paira' is very near to this college.

It was established in 1970 by the donation of a famous personality of this locality named Mozahar Uddin Biswas. It is one of the best colleges in Barisal Division. The college provides education to its students in Bengali medium following the rules of Ministry of Education , syllabus of NCTB & National University. Students can get admitted themselves into the institution in HSC, Degree Pass & Honours Level.

Honours courses on four disciplines are smoothly running here. The courses are BBA (Hons) Accounting,BA(Hons) Bengali and BSS(Hons)Political Science & Sociology .

Mozaharuddin Biswas Degree College was set up on an area of about 8.59 acres land in Kalapara Upazilla Sador and its total land is 24.32 acres. Kalapara is a coastal area .There was no college in Kalapara Thana then. So, the demand of the inhabitants had led to the idea of founding a college of very high standard at Kalapara, Patuakhali.

The college is presently placed under the control of a Governing Body authorized by National University and BISE, Barisal. Almost every year a large number of students of this college secure GPA 5 from Barisal Board and 1st Division/Class from National University. It has already earned the reputation as one of the best educational institutions of Barisal Board & National University.

Principal of this college is highly qualified securing 'Best Teacher 'award in national level. He has a number of publications also. There is also a Vice-Principal to co-operate the principal. A large number of trained and qualified teachers teach in this college. It has a big pond, a large play ground and two hostels in its premises. It has a separate Library Bhabon enriched with different kinds of books.

Now all out efforts are being made to transform it into an institution of Master's Degree College.

In the mean time the college has been enlisted for Nationalisation by the present government following the kind consent of our Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina beloved daughter of Great Leader & Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
