Pioneer Dental College & Hospital

Bangladesh with a population of 120 millions had only one Govt. Dental college at Dhaka and two other Dental Units (not full fledged) are attached to Chittagong and Rajshahi Medical College and so far only 1000 qualified Dental Surgeons had been working throughout the country. There was a great need of more Dental institutions to produce qualified Dental and Oral Surgeons. It was expected Private Dental Colleges will be successful and contribute to a great extent in the process of national development. Pioneer Dental College the first non-Govt. of Dental college obtained permission from the Govt. of Bangladesh on j20th April 1995 and affiliated with Dhaka University. Beside the College is recognized by BM & DC (Bangladesh Medicaland Dental Council).Results of University professional examinations are very satisfactory with securing 1st, 2nd, 3rd position among all Dental Colleges under University of Dhaka.


To enrich the academic sector a good nos. of renowned Professors of Medical and Dental Sciences have joined as full time teachers in Pioneer Dental College. Foreign students from Nepal, India, Malaysia, Iran are studying and good nos. of them have successfully completed graduation. Pioneer Dental College is voluntarily supported by American Dental Associations Health Volunteer Overseas by providing eminent Teachers, Clinicians, Technicians, Books, Journals, Slides, Videotapes, CD, Models, Charts etc.


24th February 2007 has become a mile stone in the history of Dentistry of Bangladesh. On that day the 1st and largest non Govt. Dental College has been shifted to it’s own newly constructed campus at Joar Sahara, Baridhara, Dhaka. Prof. Dr. S.M.A. Faiz, Hon. Vice-Chancellor of university of Dhaka has inaugurated the opening class of newly admitted students of 13th batch (session 2006-07) in ja ceremonial atmosphere in Gallery No-1 which provides seating arrangements of at least 150 students and well equipped with air-conditions, wooden gallery, multimedia and other modern educational accessories. Hon. Vice-Chancellor visited all departments of the college and expressed his deep satisfaction.
