More about Sri Sri Satyanarayaner Seva Mandir

This hermitage/ temple was established at Dingamanik, Bangladesh in 1349 B.S (1943) in the month of Ashar during 'Guru-purnima' having the consent of Thakur, on the eastern side of the house where Thakur was born. At first an Ashram was set up in a single room with a roof of tiles. Later on the disciples took an active role in constructing a very high and beautiful temple accompanied by other buildings. On the western side of this temple an L-shaped single storied building was constructed and in one of the rooms of that building the photograph of Sri Sri Lakshman Thakur, the twin brother of Thakur, is worshipped. Sri Sri Lakshman Thakur was also a very powerful divine and mystic personality. He passed away at the age of 58 years.
On the northern side of this temple there is a big pond and on the western bank of this pond there is a very old two-storied house. In one of the rooms on the roof of that building, the idols of Lakshi and Narayan were worshipped. In His early life Sri Sri Thakur used to be absorbed in meditation in that room. Outside the compound of the house and on the northern side, there is a small elevated place, covered with a very big Ashoke tree, where the father of Sri Sri Thakur received the supernatural power through meditation.
After Thakur's father passed away every year Goddess Kali was worshipped in that place. Even today the same tradition is observed on the inaugural day of this temple. Several Muslim families of this locality have deep respect and regard for this temple and they take prasad here along with the Hindu disciples. Cherag Ali, a mushlim devotee was one of the devoted disciples of Sri Sri Thakur. He established an ashram in his own house in that village and his son and younger brother also became the disciples of Thakur. They have been maintaining that Ashram even today.
