In 1967, Tangail Airport was established on 11 acre land by costing 11 crore taka. Mainly to save the agricultural lands from the insects in Tangail and other nearby districts, cargo airbuses were used to spread pesticides in two terms in each year. But, from the year 1974 to till date, this airport has been unused. From that time, this airport has remained unprotected.
