Effective implementation of tobacco control alone could save five million lives from tobacco related deaths in 23 low and middle-income countries, including India. The World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Tobacco Control Report suggests that that mass media campaigns successfully motivated smokeless tobacco users to attempt to quit at the cost of just Rs 5 ($0.07) per person. We at MANT have been facilitating the enforcement of the tobacco laws with a major focus on Smoking Ban on Public Places in the 5 districts - Kolkata, Howrah, Purulia, Bankura and Paschim Medinipur through advocacy, sensitization, one-to one meet, visiting places and by generating awareness.
